In a historical period filled with uncertainty and despair over the ambiguous future brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, I passionately embarked on creating the artwork *” Riders of the Plain of Hope.”* The initial inspiration for this piece came from the soul-stirring music of Master Hossein Alizadeh. The choice of the horse as a central form, along with its symbolic meanings in ancient Iranian mythology, represents nobility, light, and the triumph over darkness and evil. Through this approach, art became a medium to spark hope and motivation within society, reminding people of the endless dynamism of nature and its melodies full of life. In those dark and uncertain times of the pandemic, this work aimed to soothe the collective sorrow of my fellow citizens, rejuvenate their spirits, and inspire solidarity and unity among them.
The journey began with initial sketches that mapped out an infinite path. Each line and curve was an effort to revive and breathe life into Iranian myths, symbols of freedom and vitality. In the intermediate development stage, I studied light and shadow, where every small adjustment brought me closer to achieving unity and fluid motion in the depiction of the horses. Despite the limitations and challenges of the pandemic, I innovated by combining materials and lightweight concrete to create the artwork. This innovative technique, along with the collaboration of skilled artisans, allowed for the creation of high-relief elements that beautifully captured the essence of movement and life.
Feedback: Art critics have praised the work for its innovative technique and creative composition. The public has formed a deep emotional connection with the piece, which now stands as a lasting legacy on the city walls, gifting hope to its people.
Call to Action: The creation of *” Riders of the Plain of Hope “* is a testament to how art serves as a cultural and social bridge, bringing greater beauty and peace to the world. By creating diverse urban art projects, we can infuse our cities with the vibrancy of life and work toward a brighter, more beautiful future. Let us continue to use art as a means to inspire, unite, and transform our communities.
